Min says sanctions deterioration put in 2018–2020 budget

MOSCOW, Nov 27 (PRIME) -- Russia’s federal budget for 2018–2020 encompassing a deficit reduction will ease the influence of possible expansion of the U.S. sanctions, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov told Rossiya 1 television channel on November 26.

“The budget has been prepared taking into account possible worsening of the situation with sanctions. Why did we put U.S. $40 per barrel in the budget calculations? Not just because we want to reduce expenditures and allot part of resources from 2019 to a reserve… We are currently carrying out a weighted budget policy, we are reducing a deficit, and our colleagues in the West see it… A weighted budget policy is a deterrent element for the establishment of any sanctions,” Siluanov said.
